8 Helpful hints to buying a Used RV?

There is a really a lot to look for but some important items are as follows:

    1.  Is it still under factory warranty?  What repairs will be covered?
    2. What conditiong is the roof in?  Is their any interior water damage?
    3.  How many hours does it have on the generator? (Good indicator of use)
    4.  How much tread is left on the tires?  Some tires cost up to $300 each to replace.
    5.  What condition are the brakes in?  Will they need to be adjusted or replaced?
    6.  How does the value compare with the value the bank is willing to lend on, it may be difficult to get financing if the coach is over priced.
    7.  What is the weight of the vehicle?  (Fifth wheel/ trailer)  Will you be able to tow it? F-150s and 1500s will tow up to 7500, but you really want to keep it under 5,000 lbs.  Fifth wheels generally require F-250s or larger.
    8. Motor homes: what is the towing capacity, can it tow another vehicle, a trailer, or a boat.   (Look at used now)

Why is this the best time to buy used?

With spring just around the corner this is the absolute best time to buy!

There are great deals available now and lots of used inventory to choose from. If you wait until Spring used inventory starts to dry up.  If you are lucky enough to find a great deal in the spring, there is a good chance you will have competition from other buyers.

Buying an RV in April gives you the best selection and a no pressure opportunity to get the coach you want.  Weather permitting; you may even get a chance to test it out for a few days before vacationing in May of June.

Since you have time to search, you can keep your search local.  You don't have to drive to Oregno or Montana with the remote chance of finding something you like.  You can find the best deals locally, here in Idaho.

What is RV-Help-U-Sell about?

Larry McCain is the founder. This is his story, "I have been in the RV sales industry for the last 15 years.  As a salesperson I always felt sorry seeing people walk in with beautiful motor homes only to be taken advantage of by dealerships.  A few years ago an older man with medical problems went into a dealership expecting to at least break even on his motor home trade in. The dealership turned him down flat by saying they would only take it if he paid them $30,000."  After he walked out of the dealership, he told me about his serious problem and asked me if there was anything I could do to help.  Having had a lot of experience selling motorhomes, I new the coach would sell for more than was owed. The short story is that I helped him sell his coach.  It sold in about a week and the owner was able to get rid of his payments.  If we want to come right down to the nuts and bolts, RV-Help-U-Sell is about helping people sell their coaches quickly and about helping buyers find the right coach for a lot less than you would find it at a dealer.  (Find out more about consignments)

Five facts RV dealers don’t want you to know. . .

Dealers don’t want you to know that they are making a 40% markup on their new inventory because they don't know how to survive without it.  This means if the dealer pays $150,000 on a new motor home they can turn around and sell it for 220,000 because banks are willing to finance a new coach for 40% above invoice.  If you decide after a year or two that you want to trade it in, don’t be surprised if the dealership can only give you 110,000-120,000 for it even if the NADA is 140,000.  To them a one or two year-old coach is not worth as much as a new one they can buy for $150,000.  Dealers don’t want you to know that aside from all their ordinary expenses they tack on to bring down the value of your trade in , they also add a 10% fee called a PAC.  The disadvantage is that they cannot offer you a very good price for a trade in or a consignment. In addition, dealers don’t want you to know your trade or consignment will have to compete directly with new inventory that is already overpriced.  Dealers are paying interest and depreciation on the inventory they already own and they don’t want you to know that they are far more motivated to sell their new inventory then selling the coaches that they take on consignment or trade in.

Lastly, dealers don’t want you to know about RV-help-U-Sell, because it wouldn’t be good for their business.  We help owners get a fair price for their coach and sell it quicker.  Our service is hassle free and our guarantee is that we don’t make any money unless their coach sells.  (Have RV-Help-U-Sell contact me today!)
